v0.1.0 now available — macOS 14+, Apple Silicon & Intel

Look at the lens.
Notchcue keeps you on script.

A menu-bar teleprompter that hugs the top of your screen, right under your camera. Read naturally — it scrolls to where you actually are, by voice, speed, or cue.

How it works

Presenting, minus the eyes-down

01

Park it under your camera

The overlay snaps to the area right below your notch/camera, so your gaze barely leaves the lens while you read.

02

Read at your own pace

Notchcue listens (on your Mac, offline) and scrolls exactly where you are. No pacing math, no rewind taps.

03

Glance, don't read

Auto-play for a fixed pace, voice-follow for ad-lib reads, and a one-line mini prompter for quick glances.

Features

Built for real recordings

Voice-follow

Scrolls to the sentence you're reading. Chinese and English use macOS on-device recognition; mixed zh+en runs 100% offline via bundled WhisperKit.

Auto-play

Constant-speed scrolling with adjustable speed, font size, width, height and a start countdown.

Cue mode

Off-script presenting on outline cards: hang data, examples and punchlines off each point, jump with hotkeys.

Mini notch prompter

Fold to one line that shows the current sentence large and auto-advances — one glance is enough.

Rehearsal stats

A timer bar plus a menu-bar log of duration, words, pace and completion for every session. Stored locally, never uploaded.

Trackpad gestures

Hover the overlay and use two fingers: horizontal for speed, vertical for scroll — or jump cue points in Cue mode.

Screen-share stealth

Hide the prompter from viewers while recording or sharing your screen (best-effort, app-dependent).

Visual settings center

A categorized sidebar with grouped cards, live appearance preview and motion styles that honor Reduce Motion.

Light & bilingual

Menu-bar resident, detachable floating window, and a 简体中文 / English UI switchable at runtime.

Your voice stays on your Mac

Recording is personal. Notchcue never uploads your audio.

  • Mixed zh+en voice-follow is 100% offline. The Whisper model is bundled; audio never leaves your machine.
  • Chinese / English prefer macOS on-device recognition and only fall back to Apple's cloud if your Mac can't do it on-device — that part is governed by Apple's speech policy, and the UI tells you when it happens.
  • No analytics, no tracking, no ad SDKs. Rehearsal stats stay on disk. The only network permission is for downloading the speech model when none is bundled.
